The Pacamara natural from Finca La Esperanza is dedicated to her: La Memeya, as she is affectionately called within the family. Unique and unmistakable, just like her.
Pacamara as a variety was developed in the 1950s at ISIC (Institute for Coffee Research in El Salvador). It is a cross between Pacas, which was identified in 1949 on a farm belonging to the Pacas family and named after them, and Maragogype. It doesn’t get more El Salvador than that.
La Memeya grows on Finca La Esperanza and comes from the El Cascajal lot. The farm, located near the Santa Ana volcano, is managed by Yanira Mendoza. A woman as a farm manager is still quite uncommon in El Salvador, but her work quality is beyond question. Visiting the farm with her is both insightful and fascinating.
